Arty, a native of New York, grew up in Bellmore, NY, on Long Island's south shore.

He majored in Painting and Fine Art Photography at the Colorado Institute of Art. After graduation, he returned to New York and focused on a career in photography.

Initially, Arty worked and learned from some of New York's most established photographers, (Frank Paulin, Robert Whitman, Rebecca Blake, Brigette Lancome, George Hausman) before striking out on his own.

As a working photographer, Arty has shot for Newsweek, Time, Harpers, Vogue, Self, Glamour. Some of his many corporate clients include American Express, AIG, Sony, AT&T, Cablevision, HBO, Verizon, etc. Arty's personal interest includes fine arts photography and travel (photo journalism).

Current Projects include: Seeing Signs, a global pictorial of"signs" which carry multiple meanings. A Fringe of Society, a look at what middle America considers the edge of the social norm.
